I LOVE My Blind Time with BUNJIE!

I love hunting out of a treestand so much that I wrote a song about it.

But I also love hunting out of a blind. There’s something special about being eye level with a deer or a turkey and “taking that shot.”

I’ve used some more expensive blinds over the years. The many doe hunts in front of the 100 Year Old Apple Tree show all manner of blinds, that’s for sure!

But for the last several years, I’ve chosen the Ameristep Doghouse Blind. I firmly believe it’s PERFECT for CROSSBOW HUNTERS!

Why? First of all, that front window (well, all the windows!) is a big single window. The camera and Bunjie are both seeing the same view, pretty much. Secondly, there’s enough room for me and Genevieve to see what’s going on in front of us. Third—it sets up easily. It is literally a pop-up blind! (Don’t forget the sticks to keep the roof’s shape, of course.) You can carry it in and out of the woods with the handy bag with shoulder straps that comes with it. Lastly, the price is right, especially when you take into consideration that I’ve used the same one for three years now. They don’t last forever, but at this price, I got my money’s worth.

Man, what a goregeous view! It does not get better than that. Set back off a luscious little foodplot. If you look closely, you’ll see a doe fawn enjoying some Antler King.

Here’s a pro tip from Bunjie. All the blinds we’ve used come with cheapo stakes. Do yourself a favor and get some rugged tent stakes like these…they’re a lot easier to get in and out of the ground. Remember, when it comes time to pull these, the ground will probably be frozen. You need strong stakes to hold together.
