Genevieve Kills Her First Squirrel--All on Her Own!
2021 started off with a “bang” in the Kingdom of Bunjie! Genevieve was off from school for Christmas vacation, looking for something to do. I had to work, but gave her a run down on how the air rifle worked, told her to sight it in first and then feel free to hunt with it! (She’s a licensed hunter, after all, and she just turned 18—so she’s good to go.)
My how times have changed! When I was a kid I had a Daisy BB gun that shot 99 feet per second. Today’s “BB guns” are “air rifles”—and there’s a difference, for sure!
Genevieve does not have any interest in rifle hunting. The loud noises are not her style! (Not mine, either, the older I get…) But these air rifles are a good choice! Even though they are not silent, they aren’t too loud. Genevieve says they’re about as loud as her crossbow. Good to hear! (Pun intended.)
She spent HOURS sighting in my Gamo Bone Collector Edition .177 air rifle. The one above is very close to what I have. If you’re looking for one with a bit more kick, the one below is more your style!
It took two outings for her to connect, but the morning of January 2 she put a nice bushytail in the crockpot!
