Bunjie's (Current) Favorite Arrows (or Bolts, if you Prefer)

They look as good in the woods as they do in the back yard!

You think this arrow looks bad? You should see the deer! Don’t worry, they don’t all break. LOL. I’ll take this broken arrow after a good, accurate shot any day! (Smile says it all!)

For years I used the Excalibur-recommended Firebolts with great success. In fact, until 2020, I never shot a different brand! All of my crossbow deer were killed with this brand of arrow.

This year I experimented with heavier arrows. Arrow rigs from 450 to 550 grains or so were used in the backyard. Bunjie handled all of them just fine. But for whitetail deer, I prefer to shoot as flat as possible, which with my older, slower crossbow means using arrows around the manufacturer’s recommended weight of 285 grains or so (385 or so with the 100 grain broadhead). That puts Bunjie around 300 feet per second!

For the 2020 Crossbow Season, I headed into the woods with Bunjie and some ProFlight arrows from Excalibur (and Black Eagle). I love these arrows. The manufacturer recommends them for Bunjie for a reason. They’re .001 straightness, and they are dead on accurate in the back yard. In the woods, too!

I use the 20” for old Bunjie, of course. But make sure you get the right length for your crossbow. Of course, I use the lighted nocks—I use those on all my arrows. No reason not to. They’re awesome.

I was a little skeptical of the white and blue (deer see that stuff, don’t they?) but I do like the visibility when you’re looking for your arrow (or bolt) and the blood does show up better on white than on black. My old eyes appreciate that!

You kill a deer, you take your picture with the arrow when you clean it up! Even on the road in a hotel, you gotta clean them up!

Above you see the 16.5” arrows (the “Quill” length that the micro Excaliburs shoot. If you shoot 18” length arrows, the ones below are for you. Thanks for checking these out!

And your Matrix style crossbows will like the 18” arrows. Either way, the ProFlights got you covered!
